Written between 1914-16, Holst's Planets represents all the known planets of the Solar System seen from earth at the time, and their corresponding astrological character. From the angry and ominous first movement representing Mars to the other-worldly beauty of the mysterious Neptune finale, McDonald will take his audience on an emotional musical journey.
